The prototyping and design lab (the pad) is a collaborative lab space at UMBC in the Information Systems Department. This laboratory is part of the Interactive Systems Research Center (ISRC) and is the place to build physical prototypes. Tools in this space that are available to PaD members currently include: a laser cutter, many 3D printers, 3D scanners, a vinyl cutter, soldering stations, and a variety of microcontrollers.
The pad is located in ITE 473, please consider using public transportation when visiting UMBC.
The pad was founded and is managed by Dr. Amy Hurst.
